One of the brilliant, or annoying, depending on your perspective, things about the fashion industry is that you need, and are able, to prepare for future seasons as far in advance as possible. The reason it is so necessary is simple. If you wait until the middle of summer or winter to buy your wardrobe essentials, you’ll find that everything that is trend setting is gone.

What people find annoying is that it is impossible to predict what the weather is going to do, particularly if you live in a temperate climate in Europe or a similar location.

We’ve all experienced the frustration of stocking up on shorts and t-shirts in the run up to summer, only for it to rain for months at a time. Similarly, we’ve purchased winter coats and warm accessories only to enjoy a mild winter when it doesn’t even look like it might snow.

Here are some ideas that will help you to start building your winter style over the coming weeks.

Prepare for the Worst

You don’t really have any choice but to do this. Yes, it can be annoying if the weather turns against you, but what is worse: having a thick coat you never wear because the weather is better than anticipated, or freezing half to death because you’ve only got your summer outfits?

Remember to Think Style

It is tempting during the winter months to sacrifice style for function, but this isn’t something you want to be doing too much, if at all. Yes, you might be warm, but if you don’t feel great about what you’re wearing, it is only going to make you miserable and affect other parts of your life.

List Your Essentials

What items are you considering your ‘must haves’ for this winter? Produce yourself a list now of the items you need so that you can start buying without having to splash out on everything all at once.

Here are things that we believe should be at the top of your list.

The Winter Jacket

This is a must, and we’d definitely be going for something like a parka, while a military style jacket is also likely to make you look brilliant this winter. The parka has winter stamped all over it, however, and if you can get one with a detachable inner lining, you’re buying yourself a useful wardrobe piece for the summer, too.

Winter Boots

Palladium boots are a great winter purchase, as they offer comfort, robustness, and protection from the elements, literally ticking every box when it comes to winter style requirements.

If Palladium boots don’t do it for you, then you simply need to consider the warmest, most weatherproof alternative.

Party Dress

Okay, so we’ve moved away from traditional winter style here, but everyone knows that the end of the year is party season, so you need to have a great dress to wear whether it is to the office celebration or when partying with friends and family.

Go for a Quontom dress, or something similar, and you can’t go wrong!

Your Winter Style

Mastering your winter style is crucial for your comfort and confidence throughout the harsher months of the year. Whether you’re looking for an essential winter warming coat, footwear, or something to dazzle at a party, planning now will mean you’re ideally placed to enjoy the latter part of the year.
